On May 25, 2016, the STOP Obesity Alliance at The George Washington University hosted its second roundtable discussion on Obesity Management and Coverage. The day-long roundtable convened experts in obesity prevention and treatment, including health care providers, private and public payers and patient advocates. Participants discussed and defined obesity-related process and outcome metrics and moved toward development of an algorithm to guide care and incentives for reimbursement in a value-based care system. The session was moderated by Jeff Levi, professor of Health Management & Policy at the Milken Institute School of Public Health, and co-facilitated by Bill Dietz, who is also Director of the STOP Obesity Alliance. Plans are being made to host an additional roundtable meeting that will result in a white paper.
