Redstone Fellow, Allison Sylvetsky Meni recently presented to a group of 8th grade students during a school assembly at Langston Hughes Middle School in Reston, VA on making healthful choices in America's complex food environment. Nichole Jannah, MPH student and STOP Obesity Alliance research assistant at the Redstone Center, organized the guest lecture and writes about the presentation and dialogue between Meni and Hughes Middle School students, teachers and administration: "The responses and dialogue elicited by Meni's well-received presentation highlight the role public health professionals can play in preparing our nation's youth to think critically as informed consumers and advocates for their health."
