Building Community Resilience

June 2018: Building Community Resilience (BCR) led by Wendy Ellis at the Redstone Center, features prominently in the recently released City of Dallas Resilience Strategy. The BCR tools, process and resources have been embedded into the development of the plan, particularly around Dallas' strategic goal to build health communities. Leveraging BCR's principle that 'a resilient community is an equitable community,' the Resilient Dallas team developed equity indicators that will drive the city's resilience work going forward. The Chief Resilience Officer, Theresa O'Donnell, recently released an update on these new equity indicators. Dallas' Resilience Office and Strategy are are supported by 100 Resilient Cities, a global initiative of the Rockefeller Foundation.
